Shoubou is a style of fighting which Marcus has developed through fire manipulation, which utilizes his pyrokinetic ability to create and control fire by intensifying his already enhanced body heat, and Martial Arts, the Brazilian Style of Capioera to be exact. It combines these abilities and style to make a unique offense that would be viewed as unpredictable to the average fighter’s eyes due to the flowing and rhythmic style of Capioera and the intensity of fire. This Martial art feature quick, successive attacks that exert extreme power for just a moment. It optimizes a strong continuous offense, sacrificing defense for greater power, the principle behind a preemptive strike while using pure intinct and reflexes to create unpridictability in both offensive and evasive tactics that would confuse most opponents.

Physical Looks: Marcus is a half-African American, half Japanese/Fox Demon. He stands at about 5’10” and weighs approximately 142lb. He has dark brown mini dreads that almost reach down to his neck; he would usually keep it in a ponytail, but sometimes lets it hang and his bangs would hide his face. He has green eyes which seem to compliment his smooth, dark skin. He also has a two piercings on each of his ears, which he only wears on special occasions and would leave the right side without his piercings more often than not. Marcuse also has a special birthmark in the shape of a fox on the left side of his ribs. He tends to wear a variety of things, but would usually have on his favorite “R • A • P”, which stands for “Rest At Peace”, Shirt or anything pertaining to his style of music.

General Attitude/Personality: Marcus is a joker and a flirt. He will love to lighten the mood to any situation, good or bad, with something that forces people to smile, no matter how they feel on the inside. He will also try to get with any girl that he deems “fine” or “hot” or just plain “sexy” though he sometimes say the wrong things which will earn him a slap to the face. Though not always, Marcus will converse with a natural urban youth pattern of speaks, claiming that those were his origins and, though it makes him sound unintelligent in some people’s eyes, he sticks with it even though he can speak in a more formal matter when he chooses to. Marcus is also a big fan of hip-hop music and is an aspiring MC, which is why he would often “kick a freestyle” or “drop a beat” whenever he feels in the mood. Though he is portrayed by many as a fool at times, he is actually quite intellegent and poetic and is often reading a book of some sorts to increace that knowledge he has.

History: A woman named Kiyoko Kanoshi moved over to various locations in the United States after moving from Tokyo, Japan from unknown reasons at the age of 16. Three years after her move, she ended up in Chicago, Illinois where she met a man by the name of Jonathon Freeman. Soon afterwards, they would fall into a sort of love like fashion and eventually, Kiyoko became pregnant. Jonathon would then end up with an unfortunate end in a car accident by the time that she was 7 months pregnant.

She soon gave birth to the child and decided to name him Marcus, the name that Jonathon wanted though she wanted to give him a Japanese name, to respect Jonathon in his death. Marcus would then go on to be a regular kid throughout elementary school, but then came junior high. During a verbal confrontation between him and another student in school, Marcus’s anger rose to a new level and he underwent into somewhat of a transformation into a fox like person, almost killing the boy and getting expelled in the process.

Kiyoko was then forced to inform him about his grandfather, who was a fox demon in the past but soon met a woman that he fell in love with and soon after, Kiyoko was born. Though she was a half demon, she didn’t inherit too much of the powers of her father except for purely fire manipulation. It seemed that the physical and emotional traits would transfer over to her son instead, skipping a generation somewhat. After being expelled, Marcus would then train with his mother in the art of fire manipulation.

He would soon be told that he had to move to Tokyo with his aunt after his mother died after succumbing to sickness. Marcus would then be told to move in with Natsumi Kanoshi, his aunt and god-mother back in Japan, where he would be throughout High School. Fortunately for him, she knew that he had to get better control over his demon blood and signed him into a school that he would “fit right in.” To this day, Marcus is confused by that but still somewhat excited to get enrolled into Hokkaido Academy.
