"I see. I can suggest a few books," said Ichiro as he walked to a shelf and picked out some books. "Ah! There they are! I remembered I saw some just now." Ichiro takes out three thick books and lays them into Maya's hands. "These are all books on aura sensing. And if you'll excuse me, I have some light reading to do," Ichiro says half-jokingly whilst pointing to the enormous stack of books behind him. Ichiro pats the books on Maya's hand while saying, "Enjoying reading now..."

Ichiro then walks to the table and continues his "browsing", learning more and more about Hokkaido Academy and its people. He learnt that there were actually creatures such as Vampires and Werewolves here, and rarely in other parts of the world were they sighted and the reason that he had to take a train here was because Hokkaido Academy was far from the mainland of Japan. In fact, it wasn't even on Hokkaido. It was a whole island by itself. That was wonderful knowledge.

*goes over to a couch in a corner and starts reading*
hmmm...... so hard
*eyes go green*

Ichiro smiles as he finishes his reading. A spectacular experience it was, away from the normal hustle and bustle of the city. He proceeded to return the books to the clerk, who put them on a cart full of books and asked for another book. "I would like to see that book please," Ichiro said, pointing to an intricately designed book that had a gem in the middle. It was brown in color and the design was very interesting. It was wax sealed, as if it had never been opened and looked brand new.

"Really now?" the clerk asked, suspiciously, which Ichiro replied with a quick nod of the head. The clerk gave Ichiro the book and tapped it, saying, "This book, you can bring back with you for good. The library was going to archive it anyways. It was never any use to us. It's called the Reaper's Manual. See if it interests you. I can't tell you what's inside, but it's definitely not a recipe for sugar, spice and everything nice," the clerk said, smiling.

Ichiro smiled bitterly back and walked towards where Maya was sitting. He opened the book on the way and found that it was sealed tight. He decided that he would unseal it later and first check up on how Maya was doing.

*still sitting in the corner on the couch looking down at the 1st book in confusion*

"Hey Maya. Having trouble with those books? Lemme help you understand. If you need any help, I'm right here to ask," Ichiro says, sitting down on the sofa. Ichiro smiles and peeks into the contents of the book. "What do you need to know? I think I can explain it to you in simpler terms than the book." Ichiro says to Maya.

Meanwhile, he tries to open the Reaper's book but to no avail. The seal was stuck tight. It was even stronger than before really and the book was getting warmer and warmer, as if it was burning. Ichiro looked back, but there was no fire, no nothing. It was just the book. Nothing else was happening.

*grabs the book in his hand*

*her hand glows purple as she slides a finger down the spine and all the edges*

*looks back down at the book*

"Thanks..." Ichiro says, smiling and unassured, but tries the tactic anyway. He slides his finger down the spine and all the edges as the wax melts off. The book grows fire hot, but Ichiro doesn't care. He withstands the pain as he opens the book. A glow of bright purple surrounds Ichiro as a tattoo forms on his right hand, creeping up as if it were growing.

"That's weird. I feel like... I can do anything...." Ichiro says as he does an aerial somersault. He closes his eyes and finds himself landing on the floor, without a sound, as if something was cushioning his fall. He felt a rush of power through his body and then held Maya's hand. "Thanks a million for teaching me how to do that. Now let me teach you anything you need to know about aura sensing," Ichiro said, smiling and sitting back on the sofa. The book seems to have grown smaller and was now glowing a deep purple.

*looks at him with yellow eyes*

"This is the Reaper's Manual. I think I know what it does now. It contains high amounts of mana, like a mana bank. And this tattoo is like how much you have withdrawn. Over time, you withdraw more and soon, there will be nothing left. I think the reason why this book has always reappeared in the library is because this "bank" charges interest. If the person can't spew out an equal amount of power to pay the bank back, the bank will mortgage all their possessions... and since mana is spirit energy, they will die, in soul and in body. Therefore, the Reaper's Manual." Ichiro said, smiling, a deadly aura coming from within him.

"I don't think that's what you want to know though. What you want to know is about aura sensing. Let me tell you that aura sensing is actually very simple. Focus on the person and you will be able to see their aura with your mind's eye. A dense aura is easier to see," Ichiro explained to Maya.

*her eyes go a brighter yellow*

"I do now?" Ichiro asks, smiling. The aura intensifies. "Oh, it must be from the book. My soul seems to be slowly breaking down due to the mana. We'll have to do something about that won't we? Let's just transfer some mana to you." Ichiro says, putting his right hand on Maya's shoulder and pumping a slight amount of mana into Maya.

Ichiro smiles as the mana flows into Maya. "It might hurt a bit though. If that much mana flows into you, you might actually die. But don't worry. I won't let you die. I think I'm a bit deranged now because of the excess mana. Maybe you'd like to use your vampire powers to suck something out of me?" Ichiro asked, smiling with his eyes almost closed.

*doesnt flinch even though it hurts*

"Then take all the blood you need. The mana is mixing with it. I think it'll help if the mana goes with the blood," Ichiro says, then slowly lowers himself onto the sofa, the book no longer glowing. "Of course, it might already be too late. I think I transferred enough to you." Ichiro says, as he releases his grip on Maya. The mana flows slowly back into Ichiro's body, but this time, it is absorbed quickly. "I guess the mana was too pure and needed to be processed. Thanks for your help." Ichiro said, smiling.

Ichiro lays down on the sofa to rest. The mana had worn him out. It was like trying to fill a full cup with more water. The tattoo on Ichiro's arm had extended to his shoulder, as if it were growing. Ichiro's theory had been right. More or less. The book had grown a bit smaller, but there wasn't as much difference as before. Ichiro breathed in and out as the mana from Maya slowly refilled his body.

*flinches a little opening the book back up watching him out of the corner of her eye*

"Don't open the book. Or else the mana will be drained out of you. It'll be the same as depositing your mana," Ichiro warned Maya, without even looking back at her. Ichiro smiled. There was something about Maya. The pure mana that had gone through her had come out as normal mana, as if her body could corrupt mana at that speed. It might be possible for a vampire. But Ichiro had almost went insane with that mana. It was either the fact that Maya was a girl or that she was a vampire. There was something up.

Ichiro lifted his hand and then inspected it, as if there was something on it. Then he let it fall onto his lap. The tattoo was giving off a strange aura, as if it wasn't part of Ichiro. It was like it had a life of it's own.

*looks at the tattoo on his arm the new one and flinces*

*looks at him*

"It's fine. The mana... it's difficult to handle and painful too... but I've endured far worse than this. I'll be fine. You? You handled that mana quite well. It was very deadly... you feeling okay?" Ichiro asked, smiling and holding his arm, as if there was an open wound. Ichiro walked towards Maya and stared into her eyes.

"If you're not well, tell me. It's my fault in the first place," Ichiro said, staring with a concerned gaze. In a blink of an eye, Ichiro smiled. "Really, just tell me. It's no problem." Ichiro said, returning to his usual self.

*blinks looking at him eyes going dull blue before she can show any emotions*

"If you're sure," Ichiro says, looking to the ceiling. "Well... we've gotta get out of here... I can feel something dangerous here. A dark aura. It's coming from something inside the library. Its target is me... and the book. If we stay here any longer, the library might go down into the dust."

Ichiro quickly runs towards the entrance and sees the clerk. She smiles at him then nods as he leaves. Ichiro walks out of the library, breathing a sigh of relief. "Well... I can't sense the presence any more, so I think it's restrained to the library. You okay Maya?"

"Sorry. But I think we're safe out here. You want to go for an ice cream? My treat!" Ichiro says, as he walks towards an ice cream vendor. He buys a mint ice cream for himself and a strawberry for Maya. "I didn't know what you wanted so I got a strawberry." Ichiro said, passing Maya the strawberry ice cream cone.

Ichiro licks his own and watches whether Maya will taste hers. He didn't want to have spent money for nothing but he also didn't want to know that Maya didn't like what he got for her. It was a bit frustrating waiting for the response.

*she looked at it and smiles a bit her eyes still dull blue*

"It's good that you like it," Ichiro comments. He smiles at the sight of Maya accepting his gift. Ichiro then walks towards a bench near them and invites Maya to sit down. "So what brought you to Hokkaido Academy?" Ichiro asked, as he sat down, licking the melting ice cream. It was a hot day and the ice cream was melting fast.

Ichiro thought about what was going on back home, while waiting for Maya's answer. It must be cold back there. It was winter wasn't it? Ichiro had forgotten. All the memories seemed vague. The only people he remembered were his grandparents. Nothing more.

*eye flash different colors when he asks her hand falling to her side dropping the cone*
